‘Supernatural’ season 10, episode 12 preview: Jensen Ackles’ Dean becomes his younger self
After a few stories on “Supernatural” that were geared more specifically around the Mark of Cain, tonight’s episode felt like a breath of fresh air. Sure, the mark was still there, but seeing Charlie brought back some more of the classic “Supernatural” feeling. We’re a bit of a finicky fan in some ways, given that we miss the classic format when it’s gone, but then want more serialized episodes when we start to descend into too many monster-of-the-week plots.
For the time being, though, we have to say that we’re pretty excited about next week’s “About a Boy.” It is a chance to see Dean transform into a younger version of himself, but also see “Downton Abbey’s” own Mrs. Patmore in a role that is very different than the kindly character she is known. this one sounds like a blast, and you can see the synopsis below:
“Looking to get Dean (Jensen Ackles) out of the bunker, Sam (Jared Padalecki) finds a case for him and Dean to investigate – people are disappearing into thin air with only their clothes left behind. Sam and Dean suspect fairies or angels, but the truth turns out to be much more shocking – Hansel (guest star Mark Acheson), from Hansel and Gretel lore, is kidnapping people and turning them into their younger selves to placate the evil witch (guest star Lesley Nicol). Unfortunately, Dean finds this information out the hard way after he becomes Hansel’s next victim and reverts to his 14 year old self.”
This episode has been teased for a little while, and thanks to that, there is probably more hype around it than there would be otherwise.

I like Charlie but I really just want to see what they do about the Mark. I’m still upset that Demon Dean is gone it’s not fair how when Sam used Demon blood it was for mostly the entire 4th season and a bit of 5. Sam had no soul for half of season 6. What does Dean get? 3 episodes of being a demon and boom he’s cured, that’s not really fair in my opinion. I love Demon Dean the writers could of extended his story if they wanted to but no they didn’t want to give him a chance. Even Jensen said he wanted the Demon Dean story to last longer. Season 10 could have been completely about Dean being a demon then season 11 could of been him dealing with the Mark after he got cured.
