ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: The fleeting Olivia Pope in new promo

So far, ABC has done a pretty fantastic job promoting “Scandal,” so did you really think that this was going to change in the near future? Just a hint here, but it’s not.

The only frustrating thing about the new promo released by the network is that it does not do a particularly good job of trying to promote what is coming up for Olivia in terms of what lies ahead; instead, this is one of those promos that seems much more invested in the now. Specifically, we’re talking about the immediate aftermath of her getting captured. What does it mean, and will Fitz actually rescue her despite the implications for the United States? This is a question we really want an answer to, but unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot more we can say on the subject just yet. At least feel pretty assured that there are some answers that are going to be coming on this subject sooner rather than later.

The only major thing that we can tease when it comes to this story, at least for now, is rather simple: There is not going to be any sort of conclusive answer to this story at the time in which the first episode back closes Thursday. The show plans to take its time giving you the answers, and given that more than half of the season remains, we are happy with that.
