‘The Flash’ spoilers: Comic preview teases good things for Barry, Iris

At the end of this past episode of “The Flash,” we had what we personally believed to be a major step in the right direction when it comes to Barry and Iris. While she did not kick Eddie Thawne to the curb by any means, the two characters had a conversation that was emblematic of them wanting to get through their problems. Even though Barry still had feelings for her, he told her that he wanted to keep their friendship intact, and work to get past anything else that came with his confession.

So could things change for them in the near future, even to the point where Iris could start to question some of her feelings? The new comic preview below makes us wonder. While there is nothing romantic about it per se, it does reveal that Candice Patton’s character is going through something pretty big. Specifically, she is dealing with the fact that she was seemingly hired for her new job because they thought she had some sort of connection to the Flash. Since Barry is not visiting her in that form anymore, she doesn’t have that.

What she does have here is a good friend who is here to support her during a tough time. That is not validation that they are going to be getting together anytime soon, but we do like to think that this is a step in the right direction if you’re a fan.

Ultimately, we imagine that this is going to be something that takes some time to sort out … maybe even the rest of the season.
