‘Doctor Who’ season 8 Christmas Special video: Another look at ‘Last Christmas’

Christmas Day is now under two weeks away! Isn’t that a reason to be excited? We certainly think so, and that is why we are feeling rather thrilled at the moment to present to you a brand-new sneak peek of the big “Doctor Who” Christmas Special.

When it comes to overall content, we will be honest here in saying that this promo does not give away too much, beyond of course Peter Capaldi’s Twelve proclaiming to Clara that he has made it back to her after some time away. Also, there are some signs in here that Jenna Coleman’s character could be in danger, and we presume that these are ties to all of the rumors suggesting that she could be leaving the show at some point after this special. The latest we heard was that she will be in at least in the first half of the upcoming season, but who knows for sure what will happen.

Finally, we do feel like we need to address at least one other thing at the moment: Whether or not the show really is hurting itself in some way by having Father Christmas as a main character. Some have complained online about not being able to take this episode particularly seriously,but personally, we feel like the whole point of this show is imagination. If you are supposed to view the Daleks as scary, then we have no problem buying Santa as an action hero.
