NBC’s ‘Grimm’ season 4, episode 9 preview: When does it return?

Tonight marked the last episode of “Grimm” before the holidays, but don’t worry: There are still plenty of opportunities to see what unfolds the rest of the season!

With that, we come bearing some details about the road that lies ahead. The next new episode of the show airs on Friday, January 9, and the first thing that we can say here is that “Wesenrein” is the title. This is an hour that will put Nick’s abilities to the test, since he has to figure out whether he wants to live his life as a cop, or be willing to be a Grimm when it can actually be the better course of action for trying to save close to him.

For those wondering, here is what the creepy NBC narrator guy says in the promo: “He lives on two sides of the law, but this time he has no choice; he must cross the line. Can he save Monroe before he pays the ultimate price?” It’s a good question, but one we cannot answer completely here.

With that being, we feel pretty good that Monroe is going to pull through. While there is a significant element of fantasy to this show, it also still plays largely like a crime procedural. These shows do not typically get rid of many characters, especially early in January. Those are the big stories that tend to be a little bit more effective during the February sweeps.
