‘The Last Ship’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Mad Men,’ ‘Homeland’ guest among newest castings
Now that production has really started to get going for “The Last Ship” season 2, we are getting the opportunity to get a glimpse at just what sort of characters are going to be boarding the Eric Dane drama moving forward.
According to a new report from Deadline, the following actors have all been cast for at least guest roles and possibly more. This show returns to TNT with new episodes starting in summer 2015.
Mark Moses – Following up his time on “Mad Men” and “Homeland,” Moses is going to be playing someone within the world of government, seemingly working to make sure citizens are safe from the plague. He’s a powerful man, and we’ll have to see if his motives are just.
Brian F. O’Byrne – The “Mildred Pierce” alum is Sean Ramsey, a British man who somehow intersects paths with the USS Nathan James, and his actions impact the whole ship.
Nick Court – Court plays Sean’s brother Ned, who is involved with everything we just mentioned above. Court’s most notable headline is “300: Rise of the Empire.”
As we’ve said on a few different occasions, the challenge of a show like “The Last Ship” is ultimately trying to keep the tension and the stakes high, while at the same time trying to figure out a way to give Chandler and his crew a little bit of hope. Maybe this show is like “The Walking Dead” where they are constantly swimming in some sort of sea of misery, but we would personally like to think that there could be a little more of something there.
