ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Boss on Rick’s change, fun episodes ahead
Last night marked the winter finale for “Castle,” and a very big episode when it comes to the Richard Castle character. While we did not find out nearly as much about his disappearance as we hoped, we did find out that he is no longer a part of the NYPD crime-solving team. Why? Blame his connections to the mob.
While he may not have an official place within Beckett’s team anymore, don’t expect Nathan Fillion’s character to complete ignore murder cases. As a matter of fact, he is getting into the world of private investigating!
As showrunner David Amann tells TVLine in a new interview, there are specific motives why Rick is doing that. Unsurprisingly, many of them revolve around a desire to be close to his wife:
“He’s going to pursue the private investigator angle, and part of that is driven by his desire to work with Beckett, even though he is no longer officially able to do so. He will follow that to its natural conclusion.”
Also, some other fun news: The upcoming 12th episode of this season is going to revolve around the world of telenovelas! This is something that makes us really excited; it is not the first time that we’ve seen a crime show go this route, but this ended up being one of the best episodes of “Psych.” As a matter of fact, James Roday told us a long time ago that this was one of his favorites to do.
It seems like a heck of a fun second part of the season, and this includes an epic two-parter that may focus more on the disappearance.
