‘Jane the Virgin’ episode 9 preview: Paulina Rubio and the winter finale
Why wasn’t the winter finale of “Jane the Virgin” on The CW tonight? The simple answer to that is mostly simple: Timing. There are nine episodes of “The Originals” that have aired now, but only eight of the Gina Rodriguez series. The show started a week later due to that “Supernatural” special, so for a week, it will be playing catch-up.
Obviously, our fear next week for the show is that with a different lead-in (“Hart of Dixie”), the ratings may end up falling somewhat. With that in mind, be sure to be aware that there is another new episode coming on the air! If you forget, we’re obviously pretty sure that you will be feeling the sting of disappointment.
Anyhow, if you haven’t seen the synopsis for this episode yet, we’re going to get a Paulina Rubio appearance as Xo has a rather chance encounter. Meanwhile, there are also some big storylines ahead for both Jane and Rafael that are definitely worth checking out:
“Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) are both concerned about Petra’s (Yael Grobglas) true intentions with the baby, especially after they discover one of her shocking secrets. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is nominated again for a Best Actor award and invites Jane, Alba (Ivonne Coll) and Xo (Andrea Navedo) to attend the show with him. Xo is about to give up on her dreams, but when she meets her ultimate idol, Paulina Rubio, she has a change of heart. Meanwhile, Michael (Brett Dier) unveils a huge clue in his ongoing investigation.”
