‘The Flash’ spoilers: Expect a Barry Allen / Iris West cliffhanger

There are many mysteries that lie within the midseason finale of “The Flash” entitled “The Man in the Yellow Suit,” but there is one thing that we can say almost definitively right now: There will be some movement forward when it comes to the relationship between Barry Allen and Iris West.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, star Grant Gustin confirmed that there is a “relationship cliffhanger” that we are going to see between his character and Candice Patton’s, which means to us that there may finally be at least some sort of confession made by the time this episode comes to a close. Does this mean that the two are going to be getting together? Hardly. As a matter of fact, this signals to us almost that there may be a whole lot more trouble at some point in the future for them.

After all, remember some of this. Iris is still in a relationship with Eddie Thawne at the moment, and even if something happens between the two of them on the next episode, is going to want to jump immediately into one with someone else, even if it is her best friend?

What we really imagine this episode doing for her above all else is allowing her the opportunity to actually take a major step back and analyze her relationship and the time she has spent with Barry over the years, and wonder whether or not there are any other feelings that she may have suppressed at some point.

We know how their relationship ends up in the comics, but remember, that is no guarantee that we will see the same exact thing happen on the show.
