‘The Flash’ episode 9 spoilers: Grant Gustin on Reverse-Flash showdown
We’ve spent a whole lot of time when it comes to “The Flash” lately talking about this week’s crossover, but there is interestingly something coming next week that is even more important than what we saw with Oliver Queen in Starling City: The arrival of Reverse-Flash to the series.
We’ve seen him in quick little glimpses, but next week marks the first time that this character, seemingly responsible for the death of Barry Allen’s mom, will be seen to a greater capacity. Speaking to TVLine, Grant Gustin teases this big encounter by saying the following:
“Barry and Reverse-Flash come face-to-face, and it rocks him, to say the least. It terrifies him … It’s kind of a relief in some ways [to know this guy exists], because it confirms that Barry isn’t crazy and that what he thought he saw as a kid is true. Now he is more determined than ever to find this guy and stop him, kill him. This might be a special circumstance where Barry would break a neck.”
With that being said, Barry better hope that he has the skills necessary in order to do something like this to the character. After all, if Reverse-Flash has been around ever since Barry was a child, then he clearly will have more experience with his powers than almost anyone else. He is the most intimidating adversary that we have seen to date, and we know from the comics just how notorious a foe he really is. We’ll just have to see if the show does it justice.
