‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 spoilers: The curse is mightier than the sword
Monday night marks the end of the fall half of “Sleepy Hollow,” and it is going to be a heck of a crazy episode. While it feels like Ichabod and Abbie are closer than ever to stopping Moloch, the sad news for them is that it comes with a really major caveat.
As co-executive producer Albert Kim reveals in a new interview with TV Guide, the Sword of Methuselah is going to have a major drawback that renders its advantages far less amazing than it would be on its own:
“It turns out that although this sword has the ability to kill demons, it essentially extracts your life force, your soul,” co-executive producer Albert Kim reveals. “So, you have to sacrifice your own life in order to use it. It sets up a really great conflict and decision as to who is going to sacrifice themselves to prevent Moloch from achieving his apocalypse.”
These characters are going to have their work cut out for them, and while we are hoping to see Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie’s characters get closer than ever to taking down Moloch, the truth of the matter is that this is incredibly unlikely that it would happen this early in the season. Without him, isn’t there much less in the way of stakes?
After this episode, just be prepared to wait for quite a long while. The show does have many more episodes still to come this season, but the majority of them are not going to be airing until January. It’s best to be prepared for that.
