‘Constantine’ episode 6 preview: John’s tough decision for a young boy
Anytime that you have a comic adaptation on television, one of the biggest challenges is easily going to be figuring out a way to tell interesting stories that harken to the source material, but also give you a little bit of something that appeals to the character in this new medium.
Right now, we feel like that is what “Constantine” is working on, and why this show is gradually improving. We feel that there is a love there for the comics, but they are not pulling a “Gotham” and shoving it so far down our throats that we cannot see anything else.
The new episode airing on NBC next week is entitled “Rage of Caliban,” and hopefully it will continue this trend. For now, we can at least give you the synopsis below to make it clear what sort of struggle John is at present dealing with:
“When a young boy is taken over by a malevolent spirit, John (Matt Ryan) must put aside his misgivings over exorcising a child and convince the parents that their boy is not all that he seems.”
The promo below gives you a little more insight into this, and also some action / Matt Ryan being awesome. Basically, this is everything that you were hoping to see on the show and then some when you first heard about it.
We are still waiting for the show to take things to another level, but we’ll give it time. “Arrow” is a great example of that, given that it really didn’t pick things up until around episode eight or nine.
