‘Doctor Who’ season 8: Jenna Coleman reflects on Clara before Christmas Special
Is Jenna Coleman leaving “Doctor Who“? That is the question everyone has, and there is still unfortunately no answer. The actress behind Clara is of course keeping quiet about her future, even as she does a small press tour for the release of the eighth season on DVD.
In a new interview with Digital Spy, Coleman spoke out a little bit about what she feels like the legacy of her character will be. This isn’t confirmation about her exit by any means, but it is the closest thing that we have come to it right now:
“I don’t know yet. I don’t know. To be honest, it’s hard when you’re in the middle of it… we’ve still got the Christmas episode to come out.
“But one of my favorite things about her is her sense of loyalty to the Doctor – she’s really the person who’s been with him right from the beginning, from Hartnell and all the way through, I think that’s pretty amazing, getting to work with Matt and Peter and a bit with David [Tennant], so that for me is a wonderful side to her.”
In the event that Coleman ends up leaving the show, we figure that the BBC is already aware of it, and be even have a new companion in store. They are very good at keeping surprises, so even if there is an exit for her in the Christmas Special, you probably will not know until the episode airs.

To be honest, I’m glad she’s going. I liked her original episode as Oswin Oswald, but as Clara I haven’t cared much about her character.

I like Clara, but they carried that whole, “I love the Doctor, I hate the the Doctor, I love the Doctor, I hate the Doctor” routine a bit too far! For a Character that has supposedly seen all of the regenerations, and different sides of his personality, it makes no sense why she has such trouble with this version.

Clara never hated the Doctor she was angry from time to time but she didn’t hate him. As for having seen all of the regenerations, and different sides of his personality its not clear just how much of her other lives she remembers if any
