‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 winter finale spoilers: Patrick Dempsey’s Derek pressed again … by the President

Who knew that the President was going to be so insistent on Derek leading an initiative? That is something that we are finding out now, courtesy of the latest sneak-peek video released by ABC for the upcoming “Grey’s Anatomy” winter finale.

Derek is approached in here by a woman who works as a special assistant by POTUS, and he apparently wants another opportunity to try to change Derek’s mind. For Patrick Dempsey’s character, this has never been a question of want; it is instead more about what is best for his marriage, and while he decided to stay, that decision has led to big tension between him and Meredith.

Imagine how much fun it would be if he were to show up at the White House and the President was Fitzgerald Grant … but alas, that is not to be. It has already been confirmed that Fitz is not the President in this world, and all of these Shonda Rhimes universes are separate.

As the promo here more or less gives away, this is shaping up more and more by the minute to be a heck of a crazy episode, and one that promises to do quite a bit of important stuff in a short amount of time. Not only are Meredith and Derek going to try to figure out the current state of their messy personal life, but you have big events coming for April, and Maggie has to figure out where she stands now in the hospital at this point.
