Hear ‘The X Factor’ alum Fifth Harmony perform ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’

Fifth Harmony -While most of the alumni from the short-lived American version of “The X Factor” have at this point disappeared into the pop-culture void, this cannot be said for Fifth Harmony. They’ve been working hard on a full-length album, and in case you have not heard yet, they will be coming on the original British version next month to perform their new single “Sledgehammer.”

Now, we have something for you from the group, even if it may on the surface be a little too early for Christmas music: A cover of the ladies singing “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” This track comes from the upcoming “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” EP, which features tracks from many other hot artists right now including “All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor and A Great Big World. One of the common bonds that many of these singers have is the Epic Records label, which is run by LA Reid (a judge on the first two seasons of the show). You can pre-order the album here.

In addition to this track, Fifth Harmony also recorded “Noche De Paz” for the album, making them the only artists with two tracks.

In going back to the Mariah Carey cover, there are not many differences between this and the original version stylistically. With that in mind, it is probably not a bad thing. You really want to do everything you can to get new fans in addition to the ones that you have, and being able to hit some of these notes in this song is very impressive. It’s basically a vocal performance that Mariah herself could be proud of.
