‘The Flash’ spoilers: Danielle Panabaker on Barry Allen, Caitlin Snow possibilities

There are some interesting similarities, at least when you think about it, between Felicity Smoak and Oliver Queen on “Arrow,” and Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow on “The Flash.” Both were relationships created without any romantic intentions at all, but both have become reasonably popular in the ‘shipper community.

What’s the reason for that? We attribute it sort of to the underdog factor, or a feeling that you want something to happen that seems to be the opposite of what the show is pushing. For example, “Arrow” worked hard in the early days to suggest that Oliver and Laurel Lance would be endgame, just as this show has with Barry and Iris West.

However, there is no sign at the moment that the CW series is going to be shifting in a direction that turns Caitlin into a lover of Barry’s, especially given that the story with Ronnie Raymond is not entirely over yet. Speaking to TV Guide, actress Danielle Panabaker explains her feelings on the relationship, and the great ‘shipper name SnowBarry, with the following:

“I think right now the relationship between Barry and Caitlin is just friendly, but they’re bonding. They have a very special connection … I do like the ship name SnowBarry. I think it’s cute.”

As of right now, though, the jury is out for us in turn of our favorite pair. We feel like the history between Iris and Barry is important and should not be ignored, but neither pair has really established itself as a frontrunner on the show just yet.
