‘The Newsroom’ season 3, episode 2 spoilers: Olivia Munn on Sloan’s romantic hopes

Sunday night, the second episode of “The Newsroom” season 3 is going to air, and this should mark a very interesting point in the show … especially from the perspective of some of the characters’ personal lives.

So what are we going to see for Sloan Sabbath? While there were some subtle clues about her relationship with Don Keefer during the first episode of the show, this is going to progress in some ways as the two try to figure out how to be in a relationship while also working with that person.

Speaking to TV Guide while promoting this episode, Olivia Munn explained just what sort of difficulties she is running into:

“I definitely see her struggling … It’s difficult to work with somebody you’re having a relationship with and Sloan doesn’t really welcome any of those personal problems into her workplace. But at the same time, it’s really great because she’s trying to figure out how to merge both worlds.. Despite her trepidations, they actually work really well together. … She has a really big heart that has to kind of be drawn out of her at times.”

What really made this relationship so great for the show is that push and pull that went with it. During the first season of the show on HBO, she was the one to admit to having feelings for Don. However, he ended up being the person to win her back with a big gesture at the end of season: Making sure she got a big bid on an autographed copy of her book.
