‘Girls’ season 4, ‘Looking’ season 2 premiere dates official
Want to know when some of your favorite shows are returning to HBO? Well, we now have some of the latest information on this very subject.
The premium cable network confirmed today that the fourth season of “Girls” is set to premiere come Sunday, January 11, and will be doing so at a new time in 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is good news for those who go to bed really early, but bad news for those hoping that the Lena Dunham comedy would get any sort of lead-in from some other programming. Given that this will eventually put the show up against “The Walking Dead” (sure, we know it’s a different audience), we’re not sure that this is a step up at all. We don’t expect particularly enormous ratings.
Meanwhile, “Girls” will be followed immediately by a new comedy entitled “Togetherness” at 9:30, which is all about a pair of couples sharing a home outside of Los Angeles. There’s not enough known about this show to really say whether or not it is any good.
These two comedies will be followed by the season premiere of “Looking” at 10:00, which is a very good show hampered only by its pretty small audience. We’re interested in seeing how this works for HBO, and also whether or not this will be enough to satisfy their subscribers. We wonder if some will miss having a big drama on the air, like they did early this year when “True Detective” was getting all of that attention. (Ironically, it was not really getting significant ratings until near the end of its first season.)
