TV Quick Hits: ‘Sharknado 3’ gets a name; ‘Resurrection’ season 2 ratings; Pitbull to host AMAs
Meet “Sharknado 3” – Sadly, someone at Syfy did not come up with a name as gloriously stupid as “Sharknado 2: The Second One.” Instead, the third installment of this bizarre original movie franchise will be subtitled “The Feast Coast,” and reportedly will feature a sharknado so massive that it impacts everyone from Washington DC to Orlando, Florida, which means that we could see everyone from the President to a theme park in peril.
This could be fun, though we know that there were some out there hoping that we’d see a sharknado crash down this coming time on a foreign city. These are the most-popular movies out there for the network right now regardless, and this one should hit the network with a bang next summer.
Pitbull to host American Music Awards again – For the second year in a row, the man otherwise known as Armando Christian Perez will preside over ABC’s November 23 award show, which drew some big ratings. In a statement, the rapper had the following to say:
“World, who would have thought Pitbull hosting the AMAs two years in a row … The harder I work, the luckier I get. Thank you ABC and dick clark productions for the amazing opportunity — more than anything, let’s get ready to have fun. Dale!”
We’re happy for Pitbull; while we’re not a huge fan of his music, everything that we’ve heard from him away from his performances has been extremely positive.
“Resurrection” ratings fall again – The plummet of this show has been interesting to watch, since this was at one point a smash hit for ABC. With a series-low 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic last night, we may finally be in the camp who thinks that the show should be swapped with “Revenge,” which actually had a great episode last night. “Resurrection,” despite having Michelle Fairley this season, has left way too many unanswered questions.
