‘The Flash’ spoilers: How Robbie Amell factors into the story

There may be a part of this upcoming episode of “The Flash” that brings you back to the days of “Lost” on ABC. How is that? Think in terms of the use of a flashback to tell a story.

Per a new report coming in right now from Entertainment Weekly, one of the priorities in Tuesday’s “Things You Can’t Outrun” is going to be going back and showing you the particle accelerator accident from the perspective of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and helping you understand more how much she lost in the process. This will include getting your first look at Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), her fiance who has been mentioned in both the past two episodes.

One of the larger mysteries that goes along with this character is simply trying to figure out just how much of Amell we are really going to see on the show. In the DC Comics (spoiler alert!), Ronnie ends up being one half of the popular hero Firestorm, along with the character coming up to be played by Victor Garber. However, producers have kept it very close to the vest if they are telling that story or not here. If so, we would be seeing Ronnie turn up in the present here.

Another wrinkle that has to be considered is whether or not the show plans on eventually turning Caitlin into the villain Killer Frost, who is one of the most notorious Firestorm foes out there. This feels like something that could happen, but would be a little bit more of a season 2 or 3 storyline than something that would come up before things come to a conclusion in the near future.
