‘Reign’ season 2 spoilers: Want to see Mary and Catherine go undercover?
While we understand that “Reign” is for the most part a serious show, there are still times when we do get to see something that at least feels in theory like it will be a little bit of fun.
For the upcoming November 6 episode “Three Queens,” we may have something that qualifies as such. Per the episode’s official synopsis below, we are going to have a situation where we see Mary and Catherine forced to hide their true identities in order to survive, and a search party will form to try and rescue them. There will still be some intensity and reason to be worried here, and you can thank Lord Narcisse for that:
“Upon encountering a mob of angry peasants, Queens Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Catherine (Megan Follows) find themselves concealing their true identities after being forced to abandon their carriage and escape into the woods. Fearful the uprising is a response to his own actions, Francis (Toby Regbo) forms a search party that includes Leith (Jonathan Keltz) and Condé (Sean Teale), only to discover the attack is actually a result of imposters abusing the power of the crown. Meanwhile, Lola (Anna Popplewell) sets out to become financially independent but, in the process, finds herself considering a complicated yet intriguing offer from Lord Narcisse (Craig Parker).”
We are not entirely sure why, but we do for some reason really enjoy these episodes of shows that give you that “how the other half lives” sort of perspective. With “Reign,” that is even more interesting mostly thanks to the historical context that is present here. We already know about the nobility of France, so how about some insight into something else?
