Netflix news: ‘House of Cards’ season 3 scoop; ‘Person of Interest’ nabbed

We’ve got a pair of important stories to discuss here in terms of Netflix, but we’ll start with the news that is getting somewhat buried underneath the big “Friends” deal that was announced earlier today: “Person of Interest” has also been acquired by the streaming service.

It was announced today that starting in the fall of 2015, the first three seasons of the show will be made available on Netflix, which is around the same time that episodes will be heading over to WGN America in their off-network syndication deal. What’s somewhat curious here about the Warner Bros. TV series is that it is three seasons rather than four, given that the fourth season is currently airing now. We don’t fully understand the value that comes with being two seasons behind.

With that being said, this is still worthwhile news to new fans of the show who want to go back and watch the first few seasons someday, but don’t want to buy them on iTunes or get DVD sets.

“House of Cards” news – Meanwhile, how about this for fans of this particular Netflix original? Per a new report from TVLine, Kim Dickens of “Deadwood” fame has signed on for an important and mysterious role on the Kevin Spacey series, which should return in early 2015.

Unfortunately, Netflix is not commenting on her casting. Dickens recently played the part of Colette on “Sons of Anarchy,” at least until (spoiler alert!) the Diosa massacre led to her life and many others being taken. Still, she had a good run as one of Jax Teller’s most-important confidants.
