‘How to Get Away with Murder’ spoilers: ‘Weeds’ alum to play new client
So far, ABC has achieved great things with “How to Get Away with Murder,” and they’ve done so in a remarkably short span of time. The ratings for the first two episodes were stellar, and if this pattern holds, we imagine a full-season order coming sooner rather than later.
For the time being, though, let’s keep you invested in the world of Annalise Keating with the latest casting news. According to a new report coming in right now from Entertainment Weekly, Elizabeth Perkins of “Weeds” fame has been cast to play a very mysterious character who Viola Davis’ attorney / professor will assist in an upcoming episode. She is more or less the story of the week for that particular week, and this is also a sign that this show is coming from the Shonda Rhimes school of not giving much of anything away.
As of right now, the show also takes another familiar element from “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” in having a larger story that continues from one episode to the next to go along with the case of the week. What’s a little different in this case? We cannot remember a single story on either of these shows that was as mysterious or as shocking as the murder shown in the series premiere. We already know the event, but we’re still waiting to figure out all of the pieces and circumstances leading up to it. This is a great hook, but the challenge that comes with this is making sure you deliver the payoff on the other side.
