‘The X Factor’ UK preview: Meet fishmonger Lola Saunders (video)
Tomorrow, the latest audition episode for “The X Factor” UK is going to air, and we can already tell you that there will at least be one slam-dunk audition on the show in Lola Saunders.
In the video below, you can see the 20-year old fishmonger (seriously, that’s her job) perform Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” in front of the judges, and we feel pretty confident in saying that they are going to be fans. She has a very strong, soulful voice that is reminiscent of the original artist, and maybe even new sensation Ella Henderson to go along with it.
The only question that remains with Lola (who is not a showgirl, and does not wear flowers in her hair) is whether or not she just sounds like Adele every time that she sings. She’ll need to have her own identity, and there is a certain temptation these days for many female vocalists to just try to emulate Adele. Trust us when we say that we understand; the woman is one of the most fantastic singers in the entire world, and there are few who compares to her.
Even with this minor concern in mind, we feel like the odds of Lola not making it through to the next round are miniscule. She should at least make it past the room without a problem, and then the judges can get a better look at her in front of a giant audience. Right now, she is one of our picks to make the live shows.
