‘Gang Related’ canceled by Fox after only one season
It is the end of the road already for “Gang Related” on Fox.
After just one season in the air, the network has decided that they will cancel the Ramon Rodriguez – Terry O’Quinn series, which is not too surprising at all when you consider some of the recent ratings for the show. It premiered with low numbers, and it never got better the rest of the way.
Even with this being said, there were reports at one point that Fox still considered bringing the show back in a different capacity, though it may have required some significant budget cuts when it comes to both the location and the cast. The show filmed in Los Angeles for the first season, which can actually be pretty costly at this point.
This news also is the latest bad streak for O’Quinn, who has struggled to find a new home since playing the iconic John Locke on “Lost” for many years. He was also a part of “666 Park Avenue,” which was canceled several weeks into its own season.
There is one other interesting element of this story that should not be forgotten right now: “Gang Related” was the last remaining show on the Fox schedule that was a part of this past year’s class other than “Sleepy Hollow.” If you only have one show coming back from a full year’s slate of shows, that is not good at all. This is an indictment on why Kevin Reilly is no longer the programming head of the network, and there are so many new series coming up.
