2014 Emmys: Why Seth Meyers is rooting for ‘Mad Men,’ ‘Parks and Recreation’ season 7 stars
While you may claim that you want a host for the Emmys who is completely impartial over everything, is that what you really want? We’d argue that the answer to this is no. It’s more fun when they have a favorite of their own!
We feel like this is especially true right now when it comes to Seth Meyers, who has always had some great opinions … and we also happen to love some of his picks for who he’d like to see win awards. Just take a look at what he had to say to Entertainment Weekly:
“For people like Amy Poehler, people like Jon Hamm, who have never won and I obviously have great love for them personally and their work, it would be nice to see a win … First-time winners are always exciting.”
We have to say that if Hamm and Poehler manage to go the entire run of their series without an Emmy win, they may be the most egregious snubs of the entire show since Steve Carell failed to win a trophy for so many years of playing Michael Scott on “The Office.” Both are fantastic in their roles, and we personally believe Don Draper and Leslie Knope to be two of the greatest characters in the history of TV.
At the moment, we’d consider the favorites in each category to be Matthew McConaughey (for “True Detective”) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep”) … but that may change. We love surprises just when it comes to entertainment, and this is personally what we are hoping for today.

I would like to see Jim Parsons win again so he would tie the record of 4 emmys in the category like MJF, Kelsey Grammer, and, Carol O’Connor. Jim is so deserving and I like when nice people make history. I would also like to see John Hamm win. Don Draper is awesome.
