‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 notes: Peter Dinklage’s new gig; a strong Mountain
We’ve got a pair of “Game of Thrones” stories to report on today, but let’s start things off right now with the latest update on what Peter Dinklage is going to be up to in the new year.
The Emmy-winner, who could take home another trophy at the awards ceremony Monday night, will be one of the stars of the upcoming off-Broadway production of “A Month in the Country.” This production of the Ivan Turgenev will take place at the Classic Stage Company from January 9 until February 15. The play will also star “Orange Is the New Black” leading lady Taylor Schilling, and Erica Schmidt (Peter’s wife) will serve as director.
In case you are wondering, there will be zero conflict whatsoever between this new production and Peter’s schedule over on “Game of Thrones.” The actor films his work on the HBO series in the summer and the fall, and then has plenty of time throughout the rest of the year for other projects. This is part of the appeal of the show; it has such an enormous cast that no one person has an incredibly demanding schedule. The only hardship comes in the frequent traveling, and of course dealing with constant media and fan attention. At this point, though, there is no way for Peter to ever avoid that.
In other awesome news… Do you want to see the man behind The Mountain declared the strongest person in Europe? Then take a look at the new video below! Here, you can see Hafthor Bjornsson (who plays the feared man) completely owning a bunch of people.
Basically, this is a nice reminder that this guy is just as terrifying in real life as he is on the show. (Thanks to Winter Is Coming for the find.)
