‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 14 preview: Tag team trouble for all
Next week, the remaining seven cooks on “MasterChef” are all going to have a big challenge on their hands: A team challenge, but not in the same way that we’ve seen before.
Instead, this feels like something that we’ve actually seen over the years on “Top Chef” or some other cooking competitions: Each cook has a chance to work on one dish, and then crawl over to start cooking on another. These sort of tag teams are the sort of thing that make for great entertainment, but there is also a great potential for failure in here as well. What if you are left to clean up the mess of someone else?
If we were to rank the remaining cooks right now, we’d put them somewhere around here.
7. Cutter – Even when he succeeds, the show does sometimes make it look like they happen as a result of a happy accident.
6. Big Willie – We really dig the guy, but he’s had some poor weeks as of late and it’s been a while since he’s been at the top of the field.
5. Jaimee – A pretty solid cook, but also someone who has only had a few standout moments in the season.
4. Christian – An extremely strong, competent cook … who for some reason hasn’t received a ton of air time. That never goes well for the winner of the show.
3. Leslie – He’s supremely entertaining, and despite his problems working well with others, he has done extremely well in most of the pressure tests.
2. Courtney – Insanely talented, but is the show intentionally trying to make her look like a villain?
1. Elizabeth – Likable, and extremely strong in the kitchen. It doesn’t appear like she is in any danger.
