‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11: See Ellen Pompeo, cast’s awesome ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Our weekend series about the Ice Bucket Challenge continues, and today, we bring out one of the cooler joint efforts out there by the entire cast of “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Led by Ellen Pompeo (who posted the video below on her Instagram account), many of the cast participated in the challenge by dunking some of the famous ice water over their heads for a good cause. ALS has received the most publicity that it has had in years thanks to this social-media event; there are many organizations you can donate to, but Project ALS is a great one that we’ve been promoting the past few days.

Obviously, any celebrity who chooses to take part in this really should be commended for that and that alone, but also adding some extra creativity in there for good measure is certainly nice. It brings the cause more attention just by making the video more viral, and the fact that “Grey’s Anatomy” has such an enormous cast ultimately helps.

The entire Shonda Rhimes family has gotten involved with this in some way; the cast of the upcoming “How To Get Away with Murder” has taken part, as well as Kerry Washington on behalf of the entire “Scandal” crew.

While a phenomenon like this spreads quickly and therefore may not have the longest shelf life in the world, we are going to have a few more videos and articles like this to discuss in the coming days. Be on the lookout!
