ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: See Stana Katic (but no Nathan Fillion) in first promo

Want to see a first look at the upcoming seventh season of “Castle“? Then you don’t have to wait any longer. ABC unveiled the first teaser for the exciting September 29 premiere on Thursday, and you can see it below.

What is very interesting about it, though, is that there isn’t really any Castle despite the name of the show. Instead, this promo revolves more around the search for Nathan Fillion’s character, who has seemingly vanished following the explosion. Beckett is there searching for him, but she is probably going to need all the help that she can get to figure this one out. For one, Stana Katic’s character is probably going to need to focus on taking out some bad guys before actually getting married. Hopefully, that will also still happen.

As we’ve heard a few times over the course of the past several weeks, the real focus for this cliffhanger and the story that comes from it is that this is a real opportunity for us to actually see a new sort of “mythology” established within the “Castle” world. Finally, we will have something more that lasts beyond an episode or two. The purpose of establishing this is to bring out something further from the Castle character’s past, and keep that thread going for a little while. We’ve already heard that whatever happens here will not be addressed fully within the span of just an episode or two. It’ll last most likely for much of the season.
