‘Switched at Birth’ season 4 official; ABC Family renews show before season 3 finale
“Switched at Birth” fans, you no longer have a reason to worry about the show airing its season finale come Monday night.
In a statement released by ABC Family, the network confirmed that their inspirational drama, which is probably their second-most-successful drama overall behind on “Pretty Little Liars.” This will get the show to a fourth season, and it will have a good chance to pay off some of the major stories that are going to play out in the big finale. (You can see the full synopsis of what to expect there over at the link here.)
In a statement, network president Tom Ascheim had the following to say about the big renewal for the show here:
“Fans will be clamoring for season four and to know what happens with Daphne and Bay after the season three finale next week.”
To us, some of the intrigue with this show in particular comes in how they personally try to get around the issue of what is going to happen with some of the characters after graduation. “Pretty Little Liars” has stepped around this problem by basically making these characters play high-school characters forever. This show is taking a much larger risk; either this works and makes the showrunner look like a genius, or it is something that feels like an entirely different show and loses some steam. We’re still pretty confident, mostly because the show has already established itself as one of the most revolutionary on TV in the first place. That part of it will stay constant.
