‘Chicago Fire’ season 3 spoilers: The aftereffects of a certain Casey struggle

For whatever reason in our mind, we have a tendency to equate what happened to Casey in terms of his concussion on “Chicago Fire” with what happened to Nate so many years ago on “Six Feet Under.” It is something that can turn up at any point, and ultimately change your life completely. We won’t spoil the “Six Feet Under” ending for those who are still that far behind the game, but let’s just say that it was beyond surprising.

So is the explosion that took place in the season 2 finale going to cause further problems there? While there will be some issues that come his way now and in the future, for the time being the concussion story seems to be shelved. For a little more on this, just see what executive producer Matt Olmstead said on the subject to TV Guide:

“Casey has chosen to continue on with this injury that could, down the road, rear its ugly head for sure … But in light of the devastation of this collapse, it puts into perspective what he has in terms of counting your blessings, essentially. It could always be worse.”

The rough thing about where we are on “Chicago Fire” right now is that we really do have so much to be worried about in so many different directions. There is, after all, a very real possibility that one of the show’s characters is going to die within the first few minutes of the premiere.
