‘Scandal’ season 4, ‘Big Bang Theory’ season 8 stars among Emmy presenters
The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences today announced the first wave of presenters for the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards, and by and large, we would say that it is a pretty good group of people. This is an awards show that typically does not subscribe to constant 24/7 pandering, and we consider that by and large to be a good thing.
As for specifics, just be sure to check out the full list now below.
- Kerry Washington – Star of “Scandal” / nominee.
- Matthew McConaughey – Star of “True Detective” season 1 / nominee.
- Woody Harrelson – McConaughey’s co-star from “True Detective.”
- Gwen Stefani / Adam Levine – It is a little cross-promotion for “The Voice,” but not terrible or gratuitous given that the show is nominated.
- Bryan Cranston – Walter White.
- Zooey Deschanel – Star of frequently-nominated show “New Girl.”
- Halle Berry – Star of “Extant,” and probably just here for star power.
- Julia Louis-Dreyfus – Star of “Veep,” and favorite to win another Emmy.
- Julianna Margulies – Star of “The Good Wife” / nominee.
- Jim Parsons – Star of “The Big Bang Theory” and frequent award winner.
- Amy Poehler – Always the Emmy bridesmaid, never the bride.
- Julia Roberts – Star power sure, but also a nominee and part of “The Normal Heart.”
After sitting through the Teen Choice Awards and hearing so many utterances of the word “selfie” time and time again, allow us to say how happy we are for this show to be coming up later this month. Remember the date is Monday, August 25, and that is still a very weird thing to say out loud. In what world should preseason football take precedence?
