‘Outlander’ episode 2 preview: First look at ‘Castle Leoch’; watch premiere now!
Did you catch Starz’s new series “Outlander” last night? We know that many actually caught the show long before it aired. The network put the pilot episode up long before the show premiered (watch it below on YouTube, with the provisions that it is US only and that it contains mature content), and more than a million views were clocked on it. (Granted, some of these are probably individuals watching more than once.)
Does this show have a chance of being that breakout series that the premium cable network has long wanted? Signs are looking good, given that while the network has tried ambitious things before like “Black Sails” and “Boss,” nothing has come close to really matching the success of the “Spartacus” shows.
We suggest that you give the show a watch, even if you’re unfamiliar with the source material. Critical acclaim is strong, and it is one of the better hours we’ve spent watching TV this summer.
As for where the story is going from Claire (transported from World War II back to 1743 Scotland), what we can tell you is that the second episode is entitled “Castle Leoch,” and the official synopsis for the hour is below:
“Claire is taken to meet the Laird and befriends the mysterious Geillis Duncan; the clan decides to keep Claire as a prisoner after they learn of her medical skills.”
We would imagine that Claire would have some valuable skills, but how useful will she be without the technology? That is a valuable question moving forward.
Did you enjoy the “Outlander” pilot, and where do you want to see this story go from here? As always, we welcome your thoughts with a comment!
