‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Former ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star reportedly auditions
Is “The X Factor” looking for talent so badly right now that they are trying to use talent from their sister shows? It definitely wouldn’t be the biggest surprise in the world if that were true. There are only so many people in the country, and three talent shows out there in between this one, “Britain’s Got Talent,” and “The Voice” UK. The pool’s going to start to run a little dry eventually.
According to The Sun, the latest well-known singer in Britain to be invited to audition for the show is Steph Edwards, who used to be with the group Luminites on “Britain’s Got Talent.” The band made it pretty far in the competition, but did not end up being declared the winners. Now, she has a chance to get far in this competition as a solo artist.
Do we feel like this is particularly fair? Not exactly, given that she will have a huge advantage in the votes from the moment she comes on the show. But given that Robert Pattinson’s sister is also reportedly on the program this year, it’s not exactly like she is the only person with this sort of edge. We would much rather have contestants with past TV experience than ones who are under the age of 16 thanks to the new age limit that the show has created. Personally, we find younger children on the show to be a little too much pressure for most of them.
