‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 12 preview: Are you ready for some football?
After a few weeks of fantastic “MasterChef” episodes that stayed within the confines of the kitchen, next week’s installment is one that already has us a little nervous. Why? It’s just because we don’t like these same-old “cooks for billions of people” challenges. They stifle creativity, since there is only so much that they can really do when it comes to cooking for masses.
The theme this week seems to be football, which involves the cooks preparing something for a so-called flag football game involving teams that we’ve never heard of. As someone who broke their collarbone playing flag football on reality TV, quite possibly in this same stadium, we are already very worried for what is going to happen next.
Gordon Ramsay claims at the end of this that it is one of the closest challenges that we’ve ever seen in the “MasterChef” kitchen, and that excites us already. We do want to see if there is anything shocking that comes from this, but it’s doubtful. That will most-likely come during the Pressure Test.
What is interesting about where we are right now is that there are no discernible super-weak links left. While Daniel has struggled lately, he was strong in the past. Meanwhile, Cutter has somehow learned to get his you-know-what together overnight and is starting to become a good cook again. It’s all going to probably come down to experience, and whether or not someone wants to push themselves versus just resting on their laurels.
