‘Parenthood’ season 6 spoilers: ‘Breaking Bad’s’ Betsy Brandt signs up to return

The final season of “Parenthood” looks to be checking quite a few of the boxes, especially when it comes to offering up as much fan service as humanly possible to some of the people who have been catching the show since the very beginning.

For this latest announcement, we are pleased to report that “Breaking Bad” alum Betsy Brandt is going to return and recur throughout season 6 as Hank’s estranged wife Sandy.

This news caps what has been what is a very busy past few months for Betsy, with her having finished her role as Marie, and then gone almost immediately into “The Michael J. Fox Show” as a series regular there. When that show became a ratings disappointment, she moved over to “Masters of Sex,” where she has been recurring lately as a new secretary with some very explicit ties to the head of the hospital.

Ultimately, our expectations for the final season of “Parenthood” are not that specific. We sometimes with shows have pairings we want to see for the endgame and also specific events, but so much of this show has really just been about a true-to-life journey. We don’t want to see the series deviate from that much as we get to the finish line. So long as there continue to be great stories told here from start to finish that allow the families to continue moving forward, we’re going to be happy.

With that being said, we still do want a number of guest appearances, as well.
