‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Nina Dobrev on Elena’s grief and more
“The Vampire Diaries” season 6 came to Comic-Con on Saturday for their annual panel, and with that came plenty of questions related to one particular subject: Romance. You can’t been too surprised by this. Love is a central theme of this show, and it has been since the beginning.
However, this time around love comes with a significant side of heartbreak, given that Elena is having to handle the fact that her love Damon Salvatore is seemingly no longer among the living. She doesn’t know that he is still out there, or that he is going to be coming back to her at some point.
All Nina Dobrev would really say about her character’s emotional state at the convention is that when you first see her, she is not going to be doing very well at all:
“[Elena’s] definitely not in a happy place. She has a strange, confusing way of dealing with her grief.”
Is it possible that this could all lead to romance for Elena in some way? We wouldn’t count on that, given that doing so would be both disrespectful and hurtful to Damon’s memory. She is at least going to stay from that.
As for who could use some more romance in his own life, think Stefan. While Paul Wesley could not confirm anything about his character and Caroline finally hooking up, he did suggest that it was certainly about time for Stefan to have some movement in a positive direction when it comes to romance.
Also, Alaric’s going to have someone new in his life! He’ll have worked his way into a job at the university, and that leads to new opportunities.
