NBC’s ‘The Voice’ alum Christina Grimmie announces new single ‘Must Be Love’
Christina Grimmie made quite a name for herself on “The Voice,” and she’s now also getting set to try and make a big imprint in the music industry itself. She recently signed a deal with Island Records, and it was just confirmed that her first single, “Must Be Love,” will be out on July 31.
This has been a very busy summer for Grimmie already, given that she has already spent a lengthy amount of time traveling all over the United States and Canada thanks to the tour linked to the hit NBC show. She’s having to find the time to record and prepare music alongside that, which we imagine to be occasionally difficult.
What we are most interested to see right now is whether or not her vast social-media audience, which includes millions of likes of Facebook and subscribers on YouTube, are going to lead to her also getting enormous music sales. It didn’t end up leading to her winning the show, and the correlation between social-media support and revenue is something that is being very explored right now in the business world. That’s way yo see a number of reality shows right now trying to cast YouTube or Vine stars, thinking that some of their audience will come along with them. It doesn’t always work.
Still, the thing that Grimmie has going for her is that she’s very talented, and she managed to develop the following that she did online thanks mostly to hard work. That is the attribute that could really lead to success for her as an artist.
