2014 Emmys: Live stream the nomination announcement here
In just the span of a few minutes from now, you are going to finally have the chance to see who are the nominees for the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards. The announcement ceremony often contains a little bit of humor and also a few surprises … and also a ton of caffeine for everyone on the West Coast. The fact that it is announced from Los Angeles and they still make stars like Mindy Kaling and Carson Daly wake up early to do this is kind of hilarious.
Now, there’s no reason ro worry about where you can watch all the action go down. We promised that we would have a video feed for the entire announcement, and you can see it below. The video claims that things start around 8:30 a.m. Eastern, but our experience is that the actual nominations are a few minutes later. Better to get settled in a little early, though, right?
Expect this to be one of the most contentious Emmys ever, especially in the Drama category given that you have shows like “Game of Thrones,” “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad,” “House of Cards,” “Masters of Sex,” and many more all squaring off with one another. There are many competitive fields, and hopefully this will lead to something other than “Modern Family” getting a ton of trophies thrown at it again. If we have to hear that theme song one more time during the actual ceremony next month, we may be tempted to have a mini-meltdown. (The ceremony will be on Monday, August 25.)
