‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 teaser: Are Carol, Tyreese still on the road?

AMC was kind enough to give you a tease at “The Walking Dead” season 5 during their “Talking Dead” special on Sunday night, but we would be lying if we were to sit here and say that this was the most revealing clip of all time.

What we really had here was thirty seconds worth of watching Carol (Melissa McBride) and Tyreese (Chad Coleman) work to escape the latest batch of walkers with Baby Judith in tow. The only thing that this really taught us was that the season is not going to pick up with them at Terminus, and they are still out on the road. That’s good for Rick and company, at least in that it gives them another two people capable of rescuing them.

Another reason that this works for us? There are few actors on this show better than McBride and Coleman, who were a part of our favorite episode of the entire series in “The Grove.” These two have been through so much together at this point that they’ve forged an unbreakable bond, and when they are eventually reunited with some others (which we are assuming will happen), it will be interesting to see how they assimilate again. This is the sort of experience that definitely changes lives after you go through with it.

“The Walking Dead” is going to be back on the air this October, and of course we expect all sorts of additional previews out in the coming months. This is AMC’s highest-rated show, and one that in general has one of the most devoted followings out there. Tonight’s special was an intentional ratings ploy, but a smart one.
