’24: Live Another Day’ episode 11 preview: Jack Bauer breaks some bad news

World War III is practically on the way now on “24: Live Another Day,” and it’s all courtesy of an override device and the remain of one very sinister man in Cheng Zhi. You, like us, probably thought that he was out of the picture before he turned up last week. It’s a bold move for the show to bring back someone who is from one of their weakest seasons, but so far, it seems to be working out just fine from an entertainment standpoint.

As for the standpoint of Jack Bauer, things are not looking so good. He has to break the news to President Heller in this sneak peek that Cheng is still alive, and clearly there is some plan between him in the Russians to start a major military conflict between China and the United States.

Heller’s lines from this point on are pretty obvious, but you probably expected nothing less. He wants him to be able to find the override and stop this plan before it comes to fruition. As we would say, this is so much easier said than done. Jack’s got a very difficult road ahead for him, but luckily, he does have some help. Despite her situation we’re not writing off Chloe, and Kate Morgan has shown herself to be both physically and intellectually capable over the past several weeks. She just needs the right means and opportunity to get the job done.

In the end, there’s only one episode left after this one, and we therefore have to hope that this installment Monday really sets the stage for what could be the last chapter of the entire series.
