TV Quick Hits: ‘Reign’ season 2 scoop, Sarah Chalke joins ‘Backstrom,’ ‘Jeopardy!’ fun
“Reign” season 2 tease – While there were some political moves and personal growth throughout the entire first season of The CW’s “Reign,” there is something coming that is far more dangerous than almost anything that a character could throw at the cast: The plague. It’s biological warfare without it even being warfare, and without proper treatment, almost everyone it comes in contact with will due.
In the video below, you can hear what one actress in Megan Follows has to say about this story. IT’s not a particularly revealing interview (or a long one), but given that the show won’t be back on the air until October 2, it’s better to have a little something than nothing at all when it comes to a tease.
“Backstrom” scoop – We are a big fan of Rainn Wilson, just as we are also a big fan of the crime-comedy subgenre that features shows like “Monk,” “Psych,’ and now potentially “Backstrom.” We consider this to be somewhere in the vein of “Monk” and “Bones,” and we’re excited to see it on the air.
We’re also excited thanks now to the simple fact that the show has just cast another comedy favorite. Per TVLine, Sarah Chalke (“Scrubs,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Roseanne,” and more) will recur on the show as Amy Gazanian, the ex-fiance of Wilson’s character who occasionally still feels the need to check up on him from time to time. Executive producer Hart Hanson (who you already know already thanks to “Bones”) had the following to say about bringing her on board:
“When we first began our search for this crucial character we all agreed that we needed someone like Sarah Chalke … Imagine our glee when we actually scored the person most like Sarah Chalke in the world —Sarah Chalke!”
Final “Jeopardy!” fun – Finally, just check out the video below for one of our favorite answers to a Final Jeopardy clue ever. It’s completely silly, but we have a feeling you will still like it.
