‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Ian Somerhalder awesomely trolls soccer ‘biter’ Luis Suarez

Damon -Who says that a part-time vampire / full-time environmentalist is not above having a little fun with memes from time to time? Ian Somerhalder earned himself one of the biggest laughs of the week following the Luis Suarez “biting” incident at the World Cup, and it is all courtesy of the photo on Instagram below.

When it comes to premise alone, this one was fairly obvious. Of course someone was going to make Suarez into a bloodthirsty vampire! Why wouldn’t you? It just makes sense in the end given Ian’s role as Damon Salvatore, and the Team Uruguay player’s history of biting people on the field. (This is reportedly the third known incident of this happening.)

So we had our laugh about this, but the reality is that Suarez has now been officially suspended for months following the incident during the country’s match with Italy. We don’t know a whole lot else about the sport or the governing body of FIFA (outside of what John Oliver told us), so we’re not even going to attempt to make this into some sort of sports article the rest of the way. Rather than running the risk of sounding very silly, we will instead just move on.

We just found out earlier this week that “The Vampire Diaries” is going to be returning to the air on Thursday, October 2, which will allow the show to be the first on The CW to launch with a new season. That’s a nice little way to set the precedent for what comes next, given that this is one of the network’s highest-rated shows and has a huge social-media following to boot.
