‘Bones’ season 10 spoilers: Major themes, stories ahead for Booth

Take a look -As of right now, it’s not a stretch at all to say that things are not going particularly well for Booth on “Bones.” Not only was he nearly killed in the season 9 finale, but he is now a victim of a vast government conspiracy that goes so far over his head, he does not even know how to see the top of it.

Obviously, though, Booth is going to do just about everything humanly possible to ensure that he makes it out of this with the bad guys vanquished, and his own future intact. While there were no definitive spoilers in executive producer Stephen Nathan’s chat with TV Guide about how this is going to happen, he did make it very clear that Booth and Brennan are going to be very busy when season 10 first premieres:

“There is no more heinous betrayal in Booth’s mind than the corruption of an institution that has been set up for the public good … We’re really going to be examining patriotism, loyalty to your fellow citizens … and what the pure vision of the country is. … Anything that corrupts that is sacrilege to Booth.”

While we know that “Bones” is a procedural and will eventually divert back to that format in some way, it would be nice for us to see at least stick with this plot for a few episodes to really amp up the emotion of it all, and allow for our heroes to have some opportunities to truly shine. Also, you want a compelling villain, and we really have not had that in full since Pelant met his end.
