‘True Blood’ season 7 spoilers: Tara Buck on Ginger’s larger role
While “True Blood” is making a concentrated effort for their seventh and final season to keep the story a little more focused on the original residents of Bon Temps that you have come to know and love over time, they are also ensuring that some characters that haven’t received the proper due over the years are finally getting that. This includes Tara Buck, who has been a part of the show since the start as Fangtasia waitress Ginger, who has provided some great comedic moments.
So what is it like going through the entire journey of this series, only to be made a regular at the end? It’s a change to find out much more about the character and also set a future for her, and that was something that Buck was very excited to play. Just take a look at her new comments in an interview with The Huffington Post:
“Every time I got a script, I would look through it and see if I died. When I didn’t, I’d go back and read the script, and sort of breathe a sigh of relief. Oh, I’ve got another episode. So this year when they wanted to offer me a series regular, I was a little in disbelief. And thrilled, of course! It’s the payoff for all the things you wondered about Ginger. What’s she doing there? What keeps her there? Why do they keep her there? What is her relationship with Pam and Eric? I think the fans will be sufficiently satiated this season.”
Hopefully, the majority of the characters that we love have some sort of proper conclusion, even if it is not one that ends with an epic moment, a romance being fulfilled, or a shocking death. We just want something so that we know that they were a worthy part of the series over the years. All we have to do to justify our position is look back at a certain title for a key season 6 episode: “Life Matters.”
For Tara’s Ginger, we want to see a continuation of the humor we have come to know on the show, but also some further information about who the character is, and why she wants to continue being a part of this super-dangerous establishment.
