‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 9 preview: Kit Harrington, Rose Leslie in photos
Before tonight’s “Game of Thrones” episode “The Watchers on the Wall” officially hits, now felt like the right time to share a pair of images to prove just how dramatic and action-packed this episode may truly be.
The first thing we have to share? The return of Ygritte! Rose Leslie has been MIA save for a few appearances, including recently when she did a somewhat-heroic thing despite being surrounded by killers. We cannot expect her to be nearly so kind when she encounters Jon Snow again after spending an extended period of time stewing over his betrayal and departure from the Wildings. There is also the humiliation that goes along with that, especially when she is surrounded by so many machismo warriors all of the time.
As for Jon Snow, he is going to be spending his own time kicking butt and taking names. Kit Harrington is really going to prove tonight that all the time that he spent training with a sword for this story is worth it, since he has so many different challenges to face in here. The Wilding Army is far and away more substantial than the Night’s Watch has at their disposal, and while they may have a tactical advantage, there is a part of this that serious feels like the George R.R. Martin version of the Alamo. That doesn’t necessarily bode to well for Jon and company, even though Texas ended up winning the war down the road.
We’ll be waiting with bated breath for this one to air, and there will be a full review up when it ends.
In case you missed it a little earlier in the day, we’ve also posted the big news regarding the upcoming finale “The Children” running longer than the typical hour-long run time. Also, be sure to sign up to grab some further TV updates courtesy of our official CarterMatt Newsletter.
