‘True Blood’ season 7: Ryan Kwanten on looking towards the future
The final season of a show has to feel like a particularly strange time for almost any actor, given that you are having to prepare for some sort of unusual transition between a longtime job and whatever is on the horizon. It is exciting since there are new possibilities at every turn, but also extremely nerve-wrecking.
Luckily, “True Blood” was on the air for long enough that most of the actors have some money in the bank, and can really take the time figuring out what is next for them. Joe Manganiello recently said that he was grateful that there was so much happening with the show and its cast that he doesn’t feel like his legacy will be tied to it, and that is seemingly something that Ryan Kwanten is echoing now.
Speaking to Bello in a new magazine interview, the man behind Jason Stackhouse does his best to explain how he is viewing the future of his career right now, and how there are many opportunities for him that he will take his time to figure out:
“I feel like I’ve sort of set myself up well beyond where I thought I would ever be, so it’s time to take stock of where I am, smell some roses, and eventually make a pretty selective next decision.”
Personally, we really feel like Kwanten has a chance to do a variety of different TV gigs now. We feel like he could do well in a quirky Vince Gilligan drama, but we also could see him doing something completely different in a sitcom. He was good in an episode of “New Girl,” and that could spawn into something completely new.
What do you think Kwanten is going to end up doing next following his time on “True Blood”? Share some of your thoughts / predictions below, and also be sure to click here if you want to get some further good stuff now courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter.
