‘NCIS’ season 11, episode 24 (finale) spoilers: A longer look at Ralph Waite tribute
There may not be that much footage out there right now when it comes to the “NCIS” season finale, but the one thing that we are willing to wager is this: It is going to be a tear-jerker. You better have your handkerchiefs out for this one, since it will be one f the most emotional episodes of the show that has ever aired on CBS.
There is a little bit more footage included in the extended promo below for “Honor Thy Father,” but the sentiment is mostly the same. You get a chance to see what Jackson Gibbs (Ralph Waite) meant to his son, and the other members of the NCIS family. This will be a story that not only honors the character, but Waite and the relationships that the other actors all had with him. There is also a certain significance in Vance being the one to tell Gibbs that his father didn’t make it after suffering a stroke, since that symbolizes further the relationship that the two parties had.
One issue that we expect the plot to try to understand is whether or not Gibbs feels like he has the closure that he needs in order to move forward. Since the news of his father’s passing was so sudden, he will have to come to terms with the fact that he was gone, and he may not have gotten the opportunity to say goodbye in the way in which he wanted to.
Of course, we will have more on this big episode as we get closer to the episode airing, but for now, click here to get some more news on the addition of “NCIS: New Orleans’ to the fall lineup on CBS. You can also sign up now to get additional updates courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter.
