‘Survivor: Cagayan’ preview: A reward challenge and other tidbits
Is there no family visit on “Survivor: Cagayan“? We’re starting to wonder that more and more, especially based on the sneak peek below.
If you think back to past seasons, they usually have a family visit around this time. Even “Survivor: Tocantins,” which had a final two instead of a final three, had it at final six. (Speculation is rampant based on the number of days left that this will also be a final two.) Maybe there is one coming a little later, or it’s just not shown here. If there isn’t one, though, we could see two reasons for it not happening this season:
1. Not everyone likes the family visit, and feels like it takes away from the strategy of the game. We understand that, but we don’t mind it so long as it is just for the reward and there’s still plenty of other stuff happening in the episode.
2. Maybe the show wants to get rid of it to save a little cash, especially since they used to show messages from home on cell phones while they still had a cell phone sponsor. Sprint hasn’t been with them since “Survivor: Caramoan.”
Anyway, enough speculation from us. The interesting thing here is mostly that the teams are Spencer / Woo / Kass, and then Tony / Trish / Tasha. Whichever teams wins gets a chance to go away for a while, which could in turn drive Tony nuts if Tasha starts to get in his head like Spencer did on this past episode. While he may be an entertaining player and a pretty shrewd one, his biggest flaw is that he sometimes makes big moves when he really doesn’t have to.
